QWP leader accuses PTI govt of indifference

PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party parliamentary leader in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Sikandar Sherpao on Monday criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led provincial government for not maintaining law and order.

He was speaking at a meeting of party’s district organisers at QWP’s secretariat in Hayatabad to review arrangements for the upcoming intra-party elections. Sikandar Sherpao said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sensitive and Vulnerable Establishments and Places (Security) Ordinance, 2014 was against the spirit of the Constitution, which guaranteed protection to the citizens. “The government must not shirk responsibility and take steps to provide protection to the people,” he stressed.

He said the provincial government had failed to give any relief to the people in the face of rising inflation. “The PTI rulers have been unable to honour the pledges they made before the general election,” he added.

Sikandar Sherpao believed the provincial government was following flawed policies that had compounded the woes of the people. He said there was a sense of deprivation among the people as they were facing a host of problems.
