Khursheed Shah sends defamation notice to Imran Bakwas Khan


ISLAMABAD: Syed Khursheed Shah, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly, on Tuesday sent a defamation notice to PTI Chairman Imran Khan seeking Rs10 billion in damages.

Shah, who belongs to Pakistan Peoples Party, said that political leaders should refrain from criticizing and damaging the reputation of country’s institutions.

He expressed the hope that protestors at the two sit-ins in Islamabad would return to their homes safely.

Shah suggested to the Nawaz-led government that it should deal with the ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogan in public gatherings. – Samaa

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, on Monday filed in a court his response to former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry's defamation notice, SAMAA reported.

In his response, Khan said the entire nation respects Justice (retd) Chaudhry for standing up to a dictator and appreciates his services.

Khan said his selection of words was ‘wrong’ and ‘inappropriate’ against the former CJP and spoke out of control under sentiments of ‘disappointment’ and ‘protest’ over vote rigging. 

“It was unintentional. I hope you will forgive it,” he appealed.
